Helitak Pty Ltd is a privately owned company situated on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia. Proprietor Jason Schellaars is a fully licensed commercial pilot and engineer by trade.
During my time in flying it became evident that there was a strong need for user friendly, easy to assemble, compact all in one fire suppression units for use within the Helicopter industry. After several years of designing a concept I believed would be efficient, compact, reliable, and cost effective I put my efforts into actually constructing this type of fire suppression unit, which is now called the Helitak Fire Tank. The original concept has now grown to include a Fill Pill for long line work and Hover pumps.
Helitak is a newly formed business and has been operating since early 2006. The first completed commercial Helitak Fire Tank was exported to America in mid 2006. Several tanks have since been completed and have been dispatched to the Australia market.
The product was launched for the first time at the 2007 HIA Heli Expo.
